The Melanin Horns

is a premier brass collective founded by Los Angeles-based trumpeter Tatiana Tate. Born from a passion for excellence and a commitment to representation, Melanin Horns brings together some of the most talented Black horn players in the industry.

From intimate jazz clubs to major festival stages, Melanin Horns delivers a powerful, soulful sound that blends jazz, funk, R&B, and soul. The collective has performed alongside some of music's biggest names and continues to push the boundaries of what a horn section can be.
